The '''MV Queen of Oak Bay''' is a ferry owned and operated by BC Ferries. The boat primarily serves customers traveling to and from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The boat entered service in 1981, and received a midlife refurbishment in 2005. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2005 refurbishment; only some notification appliances are original.

==System Specifications (2005-present)==
====FACP====
The vessel is protected by a Notifier NFS-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
The notification appliances are utilized for general signaling; it is assumed that the system has supervisory events for those purposes.

====Notification Appliances====
Most notification appliances are Simplex 4080 vibrating bells (gray, 6” gong inside and 10” gong outside).
Some areas have Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (gray, 10” gong).
There is a Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bell (10” gong, gray) on the upper deck as a deficiency replacement.
All bells are also used for general signaling.

===Initiating Devices===
====Pull Stations====
All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules.

====Automatic Detection Devices====
There are Notifier FST-851RA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in most areas.
There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on Notifier B710LPA bases.
Some areas have Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.

====Modules====
There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
