The '''National Building''' is an office building located at 1550 5 St SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building is anchored by National on 17th, a bar on the main floor. The building was built in 1979, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2014.

==System Specifications (2014-present)==
====FACP====
The building is protected by a Vigilant VS1 hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main electrical room. The system runs Vigilant's GSA addressable protocol, and feeds several Vigilant GSA-MAB zone modules to accommodate the conventional devices on the system. The system coding is temporal.

=====Annunciators=====
There is a Vigilant K-RLED-C annunciator at the main entrance to the elevator lobby.

====Notification Appliances====
The office building has a mix of Edwards "Genesis" G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd) and GC-HDVM horn/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).
The bar has a mix of System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd), System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) and System Sensor "L-Series" P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, bilingual lettering, set to 15cd).
Only the strobes in the office building are synchronized.

===Initiating Devices===
====Pull Stations====
All pull stations but one are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
There is a Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull station in the bar as a deficiency replacement.

====Automatic Detection Devices====
There are a mix of System Sensor 5601A and FDD CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the building.
The bar manager's office and staff washroom have Mircom TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors.
There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell.
There are Kidde KI-PD addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in the elevator lobbies, shaft and machine room, mounted on Kidde KI-SB bases.

====Modules====
There are Vigilant GSA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Vigilant GSA-IM addressable isolator modules on the SLC.

====EOLs====
There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all circuits feeding the bar.
