'''Optimist/George Blundun Arenas''' is a twin arena complex located in the Optimist Athletic Park at 5020 26 Ave SW, in Calgary, AB. The complex is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The Optimist arena was built in 1971, and George Blundun was added in 1980. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2007 and retains some original components.

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main lobby. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.

There is a Mircom RAX-LCD annunciator in the main entrance vestibule, mounted in a Mircom BB-1001 enclosure.

There are 5 bells in the building. There are three Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong). There is one Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bell (10” gong) in the main lobby. There is one Edwards “Durabel” 6100D vibrating bell (10” gong) in the Optimist Arena.
