The building was protected by an EST QuickStart QSC conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in an electrical room. The system coding was continuous. This panel replaced an EST ESA2000 in 2011, which replaced an Edwards Custom 6500 in 1997.

Most notification appliances in the original part were Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (10" gong). There were many Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong) throughout, installed in 1997 and as deficiency replacements. The unrenovated areas had Edwards C2M-PD conventional photoelectric smoke detectors. Each guest room had an Edwards 281B-PL conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector.
