The University at Albany is a public research university with campuses in Albany, Rensselaer and Guilderland, NY. It was founded in 1844, is part of the State University of New York system, and enrolls over 17,900 students. The Uptown Campus in Albany is most known for being in weatherdan882002’s UAlbany fire alarm and fire drill videos. This page will cover the Biology building. The building was built in 1966, and the system was upgraded in 2001.
==System Specifications (2001-present)==
====FACP====
The building is protected by a Simplex 4120 addressable fire alarm system. The main panel is not visible, and is located in an electrical or mechanical room. It is not networked to any of the other buildings on campus. The system runs Simplex’s MAPNET II addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal for the SmartSync devices, and free-run continuous for the outdoor devices.

There is a Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciator at the entrance.
====Notification Appliances====
All indoor notification appliances are from Simplex's "TrueAlert" line of products. The notification appliances are mostly Simplex 4903-9417 (red, wall-mount, 15cd) horn/strobes. Depending on the area, there can be Simplex 4903-9418 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 75cd) or 4903-9419 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 110cd), as the candela rating varies throughout. The bathrooms and in places where more visual coverage is needed contain Simplex 4903-9331 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd), and some 4904-9332 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 75cd) and 4904-9333 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, SmartSync, 110cd), depending on the area.

For outdoor notification, there are mostly Wheelock MT-24-WM multi-tone weatherproof horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 117cd). There are also a few Wheelock MTWP-2475-FR (red, wall-mount, 185cd) multi-tone horn/strobes, as well as one System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P4RK weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd). These were installed as deficiency replacements. All of these horn/strobes are set to continuous horn.
