Gateway Plaza is a large commercial plaza located at 3414 Gateway Blvd NW, Edmonton, AB. Its major tenant is Gateway Entertainment Centre, which opened in 1992, replacing the failed Kidsland Mall. It also consists of Monster Mini Golf, Dot’s, GYMVMT, and Tru Ride Cycle Studio. The building was built in 1989, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2012; some devices are original.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom Series 1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby of Gateway Entertainment Centre, next to the elevators. The system coding is likely temporal.
The Series 1000 replaced a Pyrotronics System 3 in 2012.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Gateway Entertainment Centre & Dot’s[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances but one are Cerberus Pyrotronics BMD-1024C vibrating bells (10” gong).
There is a Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10” gong) in the Rec Room as a deficiency replacement.

All Other Tenants (2012)[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Mircom “Select-a-Horn/Strobe” FHS-340R horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd/electromechanical).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Pyr-a-Larm MS-51B conventional single-action pull stations.
There are Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations in Monster Mini Golf.
The following devices were installed as deficiency replacements:

  • Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations the Lower Billiards and one hallway of Gateway Entertainment Centre as deficiency replacements.
  • Notifier NFM-950B conventional single action pull station in the Gateway Entertainment Centre lobby
  • Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull station in GYMVMT entrance vestibule.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There is a Cerberus Pyrotronics conventional ionization smoke detector in the bar of Gateway Entertainment Centre, model to be confirmed. The rest of the building is protected by a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.
