The Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions is a health care centre located at 139 43 Avenue W, in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada. The centre is owned and operated by Alberta Health Services. The building also houses the Claresholm Aquatic Centre, located at 212 Fairway Drive. The building was first built in 1959, and expanded in 1988 and 1992. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 1992, and most recently in 2012.
System Specifications (2012-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Siemens FireFinder XLS hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. There are approximately 7 nodes as part of a network; the main node is located in the power plant. The system runs Siemens’ FirePrint addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The alert signal is 30BPM, and the alarm signal is slow whoop. The system does not play a pre-recorded message.
The FireFinder XLS replaced a Cerberus MXLV in 2012.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There are Siemens SSD annunciators at all nurse’s stations and at some entrances.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances are Arnscott ASAL82G25W remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount) paired with Wheelock WST-24 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 1.5cd).
The north wing common areas have Wheelock ET1070-LSM-24-VFR speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, 70V, 15/75cd).
The north wing rooms have Wheelock E9070-LS-24-CFW speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, 70V, 15cd).
There are Siemens SET-MC-CW-B speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd) in some north wing rooms as deficiency replacements.
The tunnels have Siemens SET80-R-ULC weatherproof remote speakers (red, wall-mount, vandal-resistant set to 70V) paired with Siemens ST-75-R-WP-B remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 185cd); there were formerly Wheelock ET-1080-R weatherproof speakers (red, wall-mount, vandal-resistant) paired with Wheelock WMT-24 weatherproof remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 117cd).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
Most pull stations are Siemens HMS-2S addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Some areas have Cerberus MS-53 conventional two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
Most areas have Siemens FDO421 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
All unit bathrooms have Siemens FDOOT441 addressable multisensor smoke/heat detectors.
Some areas have Siemens FDT421 addressable fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
Some office areas have Siemens OP121 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors.
Areas such as kitchens have FDD CF-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors.
The tunnel has Siemens OH121 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
Most air handling units are equipped with Siemens FDBZ492-HR addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors.
Modules[edit | edit source]
All conventional zones with Siemens detectors are monitored by Siemens HZM addressable zone adapter modules.
Zones with FDD detectors are monitored by Siemens HTRI-R addressable relay/monitor modules; these modules are also installed as relays for various purposes.
All tamper and flow switches are monitored by Siemens HTRI-D addressable dual-input monitor modules.
