The Lake Bonavista Community Association is a small recreation centre located at 1401 Acadia Drive SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building opened in 1976, and the fire alarm system is partially original.

System Specifications (1976-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Siemens TXL-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the facility operator's room, and is in an Edwards 6500 cabinet. The system coding is march time (60BPM).

The TXL-1000 replaced a Tyco/Grinnell Series M-1000 in 2022, which in turn replaced the original Edwards Custom 6500 in the 2000s.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Mircom RAM-216 16-LED annunciator at one of the entrances.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are the original Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).

Some areas have Simplex 2901-9723 motor bells (6" gong) as deficiency replacements.

There is an Edwards "Adaptahorn" remote horn in the dressing room hallway, however the model and purpose are unknown at this time.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are the original Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

The following pull stations have been installed as deficiency replacements:

  • Mircom MS-401 conventional pull stations in many areas
  • Notifier NFM-950B conventional pull station in small arena
  • Siemens M61-B conventional pull station in players' entrance to large arena.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

None noticed.
