The Rocky Mountain House Health Centre is a hospital located at 5016 52 Ave, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada. The hospital opened in 1971, expanded several times throughout the years, however the fire alarm system is from 2007.

System Specifications (2007-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown at this time, but was confirmed through a building report. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is 20BPM, followed by temporal for the alarm signal.

The 4100U most likely replaced an Edwards ESA2000 in 2007.

Booster Panels[edit | edit source]

There is a Simplex 4009 IDNet NAC booster connected to the panel.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciators at the main entrance, nurse’s station, and emergency station.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd), which were installed in 1997 from the previous system.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable dual-stage single-action pull stations, replacing Edwards 270-GAO dual-stage pull stations to make the system fully addressable.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the facility, mounted on 4098-9792 addressable bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
