This mall is protected by a two-stage networked Simplex 4100U InfoAlarm voice evac system. One of the panels has been found at the main entrance, and has a microphone on it. The panels were installed in the 2000s, most likely 2007. As of May 21, 2021 the system has 7 troubles, more specifically a NAC bypass for the Tower panel.

The notification appliances are Simplex "TrueAlert" 4902-9716 (red, wall mount) speakers. They were installed in 2019, replacing older notification appliances which are currently unknown at this time. There are Atlas-Soundolier SVT-72 speakers flush mounted into the wall, but they are not in use as they are painted over and have TrueAlert speakers not too far from them.

Melcor Centre is a shopping mall located 200 4 Ave S, in Downtown Lethbridge, Alberta. Canada. The building consists of a 2-story complex and a 10-story office tower. The first floor and office tower were built in 1975, with a second floor of the mall being built in 1988. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2007.

System Specifications[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4120 networked fire alarm system. All nodes are Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm panels; one node is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation; the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Simplex "TrueAlert" 4902-9716CA remote speakers (red, wall-mount, set to 70V).
There are Atlas Soundolier SVT-72 remote speakers throughout the building, however these are likely disconnected.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex "TrueAlarm" 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell, and likely in other areas. All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
