Shepard Landfill is a waste management facility owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The facility is located at 12111 68 Street SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page will cover Building A, which is an office building. The building was built in 1969, was expanded twice in the 1970s and 1980s. It was then renovated in 2010; the fire alarm system was installed after this renovation.

System Specifications (2010-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are from System Sensor’s “SpectrAlert Advance” line of products.
All indoor notification appliances are System Sensor PC2WA horn/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.
There are conventional pull stations in exterior storage rooms, model unknown. These are wired to Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.
The kitchens and mechanical room have Notifier FST-851RA addressable thermal rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases.
There are conventional heat detectors in the exterior storage rooms, model to be confirmed. These are wired to Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the conventional pull stations and heat detectors in the exterior storage rooms.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on each SLC.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
