TELUS Spark Science Centre is a science museum located at 220 Saint George’s Drive Northeast, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The museum had 431,262 visitors in 2016. Opened in 2011, it is the newest science museum in Canada. The fire alarm system is original to the building.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Siemens FireFinder XLS addressable fire alarm system. The panel is likely located in an electrical room. The system runs Siemens’ FirePrint addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. Alert signal coding is 20BPM, followed by temporal for the evacuation signal.

There is a Siemens SSD (System Status Display) annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Siemens MTH-MC-W-B horn/strobes (white, wall-mount, bilingual lettering). These are set to the continuous horn tone, and are coded by the main FACP.

All pull stations are Siemens HMS-2S addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Siemens HFP-11 addressable multisensor smoke/heat detectors throughout the building.

There are Siemens XTRI-M addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There are Siemens EL-300C end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
