Winfield Agriplex is a multi-use building located at 401 6 St E, Wetaskiwin County, AB. It consists of a hall and arena; it was originally built as the Winfield Arena (now Woody Johnson Arena) in the 1950s, and was expanded around 1986 to add the hall. The fire alarm system was upgraded around 1983 for the lobby and arena, the hall's bells are original; the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2024.
System Specifications (1980s-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Mircom FA-106 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located on the south the lobby near the hall, and is also noticeably mounted high. The system coding is temporal.
The FA-106 replaced an EST 6601 in 2024 after a panel failure.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances in the lobby and arena hallways are Chubb 960-1033 vibrating bells (10” gong). There is also one installed outdoors for exterior notification.
There are some Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong) in the same areas, installed during 1986.
There is a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10" gong) in the arena as a deficiency replacement for an Edwards 439D-10AWC.
The hall portion has Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6" gong).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
The lobby and arena mostly have Sentron 303 conventional single-action pull stations.
There are some Sentron 304 conventional two-stage pull stations, wired as single-stage.
The hall has Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations; these replaced Edwards 274-111 conventional single-action pull stations in 2024.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Mircom 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the facility, installed in 2024.
These replaced Edwards 281C conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout, with some Sentron 320 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are two Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
