'''Bow Valley Square''' is an office building complex with four towers in Downtown Calgary. The towers are 17, 39, 32 and 37 stories high. The first tower was completed in 1972, and the last in 1981. The fire alarm system is not original, though a few notification appliances in underground parking are likely original. There is also a 2 story shopping mall in the building, and the second floor has three +15 skywalk additions, Fifth Avenue Place to the North, Suncor Energy Center to the east, and Brookfield Place to the south.

'''Bow Valley Square''' is an office building complex with four towers located at 205 5 Ave SW in Downtown Calgary. The first tower was completed in 1972, followed by three more in 1975, 1979 and 1981. There is also a 2 story shopping mall in the building. The fire alarm system was mostly upgraded in 2011.

==== FACP ====
The complex is protected by a Notifier NOTI-FIRE-NET networked fire alarm system.  There are a mix of Notifier NFS2-3030C, NFS2-640C and NFS-320C addressable fire alarm panels on this system; the main node is located in the CACF room.  The system runs Notifier's FlashScan addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation.  The system is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is a 20BPM beep with a custom message (30 seconds of beeps, two messages, repeat), followed by the evacuation signal; a temporal bell tone, and a custom message (7 rounds of temporal, two messages, repeat).

==== Panels ====
This system replaced a Notifier AFP1010 network.
===== Annunciators =====
There are numerous Notifier NCA-2 annunciators throughout the building.

The fire alarm panels are networked two-stage Notifier NFS2-3030C with DVC (Digital Voice Command) installed in 2012, but there was another reno in 2019, so they might be replaced with newer NFS2-3030C panels. There are many panels, at least 32 for the whole building, but they are not visible. They probably replaced older Notifier AFP1010 panels. It is unknown what first stage is, but when the panels go into general alarm, all speakers play a custom recorded male voice message that says  "Attention! May I have your attention please! A fire condition exists. Please proceed to the nearest safe exit stairwell, and commence emergency evacuation procedures. Do not use the elevator." twice, and the sound of a 10" bell (close to a Wheelock MB-G10-24 bell) in code-3 for 7 rounds, then repeat. All strobes in the system are synchronized.
==== Notification Appliances ====
===== Complex =====
Most of the notification appliances are from System Sensor's "SpectrAlert Advance" line of products, unless otherwise noted.

Most of the notification appliances are System Sensor SPSCWA speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15 and 15/75cd) and System Sensor SPCWA speakers (white, ceiling-mount), usually in the pattern of speaker/strobe, speaker, speaker/strobe, speaker. The strobes are either set to 15 or 75cd, depending on location. Most are ceiling-mounted, however the mall hallways are wall-mounted. Some SPCWA speakers can be found for additional sound coverage.

In the 4th tower on the 32nd floor, the elevator area has an aforementioned speaker with a System Sensor SCWA remote strobe (white, ceiling-mount) next to it.

There are also some System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP2C2475A speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, 75cd) scattered on the main level, leftover from the previous system.

==== Notification Appliances ====
The former Tim Hortons' space had a System Sensor SP2C2430 speaker/strobe (white, ceiling-mount, 30cd).
===== Parkade =====
Most notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SPSRA speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).

Most of the notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advanced" SPSCW (white, ceiling) speaker/strobes and SPCW (white, ceiling) speakers, usually in the pattern of speaker/strobe, speaker, speaker/strobe, speaker. Most are on the ceiling, but in the parkade elevator and mall hallways are on the wall. A few parkade elevators and some areas of the ground floor have System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP2C2475 (white, ceiling) speaker/strobes left over from the AFP1010 system. There was one in P3 elevators, but has been replaced with a SPSCW in 2017. In the 4th tower on the 32nd floor, the elevator area has a System Sensor SPCW with a System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advanced" SCW (white, ceiling) remote strobe next to it. The parkade has a whole bunch of goodies! There are mainly System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advanced" SPSR (red, wall) speaker/strobes, but on some pillars, there are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP200W (white, ceiling) speakers on the ceiling next to the pillar and on the pillar, a System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SC2475 (white, ceiling) strobe, likely left over from the AFP1010 system. Throughout the parkade on the ceiling, you can find System Sensor SC2475 strobes from the AFP1010 system, and right beside them a whole bunch of speakers before and during the AFP1010 system. They include Wheelock ET-1010-R vandal resistant speakers from the 1980s-90s, System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP201R (red, wall) speakers from the AFP1010, and Atlas Soundolier SVT-72 speakers likely original. There is also one Atlas Soundolier VTF-157UCR flush-mount re-entrant speaker on a wall at the parkade entrance, likely original. The speakers in the office towers are tapped at 2 watts, while the mall is tapped at 1/2 watt.
On some pillars, there are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP200WA speakers (white, ceiling-mount) on the ceiling next to the pillar, and a System Sensor SC2475WA remote strobe (white, ceiling-mount, 75cd) on the pillar, left over from the AFP1010 system.

Throughout the parkade on the ceiling, there are System Sensor SC2475WA strobes left over from the previous system, next to a speaker in the list below left over from previous systems in order from most common to least:
* System Sensor SP200WA (white, ceiling-mount)
* Atlas-Soundolier SVT-72UC weatherproof speakers (red, 25V, cone driver)
* Wheelock ET-1010-R vandal resistant speakers (red, wall-mount)
* System Sensor "SpectrAlert" SP201R speakers (red, wall-mount)
There is also one Atlas-Soundolier VTF-152UCR speaker (red, flush-mount, re-entrant, 25V) on a wall at the parkade entrance, likely original.<br>The parkade elevator areas mostly have System Sensor SPSCWA (white, ceiling-mount) speaker/strobes, however there are a few with leftover System Sensor SP2C2475A (white, ceiling-mount, 75cd) speaker/strobes. One SPSCWA was installed as a deficiency replacement in 2017.
