Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier Airport is an international airport located at 1000 Airport Parkway Private, Ottawa, Ontario. The airport is relatively small, with only 28 gates. The terminal was originally built in 2003, and was expanded in 2008. The fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications

FACP

The airport is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the 2008 expansion is equipped with Notifier's "Digital Voice Command" (DVC) voice evacuation system. The system is configured for two-stage operation: the horn alert coding is 20BPM, and the horn alarm coding is temporal. It is believed the 2008 expansion follows this coding, likely with messages in addition.

Notification Appliances

The 2003 portion of the building has Wheelock MT4-12/24W horns (white, wall-mount), as well as Wheelock AH-12/24W horns (white, wall-mount).

The 2008 expansion has System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” SPSCWA speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount).

The parking garage has Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells (10” gong).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Notifier FM-955 addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

Not currently known, but should be present.

Modules

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
