'''Lowe's Home Improvement''' is a chain of home improvement stores aka hardware stores throughout Canada. This particular location is in Crowfoot, AB. It was built in 1995 as Rona, and remodeled in late 2017 to become a Lowe's, with the fire alarm system not being affected. The current system has been in use since 2014. Most pull stations except for one, and some notification appliances are original. The system is managed by Troy Life & Fire Safety.

Most notification appliances are the original Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5cd). There is one outside under the ceiling and is very weathered out, with the strobe yellow and faded. The other original notification appliances in the store are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong), and can be seen kind of mixed in, likely for more coverage. The garden centre has Edwards 439D-10AWC bells with EST "Integrity" 202-5A-001 (red, 15cd) strobes under them. There are two Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells (10" gong) on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW (red, multi-candela) strobe plates, beside the panel, and by the checkouts, installed as deficiency replacements. At the back of the store by aisle 43, there is a Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell (10" gong) on a Wheelock RSSP-2415W (15ce) strobe plate that was installed as a deficiency replacement prior to 2017. In the "cut shop", there is an unknown 10" bell on a strobe plate from a Wheelock MBS-G10-24, however it is unknown as there are only employees allowed back there; the bell was installed as a deficiency replacement. In 2018, approximately 4 Wheelock MBS-G10-24 bell/strobes were replaced with Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10" gong) on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates (multi-candela) as deficiency replacements. One is facing downward.

Lowe's Home Improvement is a chain of home improvement stores throughout Canada. This particular location is located at 90 Crowfoot Way, Calgary, AB. It was built in 1995 as REVY, became RONA in 2001, and finally Lowe's in 2017. The fire alarm system is mostly original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-640C conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located behind the front customer service desk at the entrance, and has multiple Notifier XP6-MAA zone cards to accommodate the system's conventional technology. The system coding is likely continuous.

The NFS2-640C replaced an EST ESA2000 in 2011.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5cd).

There are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong) scattered throughout the sales floor.

The garden centre has Edwards 439D-10AWC bells with EST "Integrity" 202-5A-001 (red, 15cd) strobes under them.

The following devices were installed as deficiency replacements:

  • Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells (10" gong) on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW (red, set to 15cd) strobe plates, beside the panel, and by the checkouts.
  • Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell (10" gong) on a Wheelock RSSP-2415W (15cd) strobe plate by aisle 43.
  • Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bell (10" gong) in the cut shop, mounted on the original Wheelock strobe plate.
  • Four Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10" gong) on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates (red, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations except for one are the original Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations.

There is a Simplex MS-301C conventional pull station in the garden centre installed as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed. The building has a sprinkler system.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
