The Whitehorn Lodge is a daylodge located mid-mountain at the Lake Louise Ski Resort, located at 1 Whitehorn Rd, Lake Louise, AB. It consists of the Whitehorn Bistro and the Wildlife Interpretive Centre. It was built in 1959, and the fire alarm system was recently upgraded.
System Specifications[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a hardwired 120V fire alarm system, so there is no panel.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RHKA-120 weatherproof horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 120V, set to 135cd).
For outdoor notification, there is an Amseco BZ-51 motor horn and Space Age Electronics V33 light (red, FIRE lettering) on one side, connected to a 24VDC transformer.
The horn/strobes replaced the original Edwards “Adaptabel” 340 vibrating bells (red, 6” gong).
There was an Edwards 340-4N5 vibrating bell (4” gong, gray) in Whitehorn Bistro as a deficiency replacement, installed in the 2000s.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations. Most are original, but the Wildlife Interpretive Centre has one from the 2010s as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
None, as the building pre-dates codes requiring smoke or heat detectors.
