The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is a trade school located in Calgary, Alberta. This page will cover the Cenovus Energy Centre, which houses classrooms and training centres. The building opened in 2012, and has the original fire alarm system.
System Specifications[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown at this time. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is a 20BPM tone, and the alarm signal is a temporal tone. There are custom messages for each stage.

There is an Edwards EST3-6ANN annunciator at the employee entrance to Tim Hortons.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are from EST’s “Genesis” line of products.
Most notification appliances are EST G4-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, 70V).
The main corridors have EST G4-S7 remote speakers (white, wall-mount, 70V), mounted in the following pattern: speaker/strobe, speaker, speaker/strobe, speaker.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
