Walmart is a chain of big-box stores headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, USA. This particular store is a Supercentre, and is located at 1203 Parsons Road Northwest, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The store opened in 2007, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.
System Specifications (2007-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by an Edwards iO1000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
The iO1000 replaced the original EST QuickStart QS1 around 2022.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
The notification appliances are a mix of Edwards “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) and Edwards G1R-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
These devices are mounted on poles throughout the store, with two horn/strobes and remote strobes mounted opposite each other. The aforementioned horn/strobes are also mounted near exits.
The public washrooms have Edwards G1R-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in the entrance vestibules, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases. The store is equipped with a sprinkler system.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
