Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, also known as SLSFSC or commonly shortened to Spray Lakes is a recreation centre at 800 Griffin Road E, Cochrane, AB. The facility houses 3 NHL sized arenas and spans two floors. It was originally built in 2001, was expanded in 2004 to add a fieldhouse, the turf, double gym, and running track, 2009 to add two more arenas, and finally 2017 to add the pool and aquatic facility. The FACP was installed in 2017, the pull stations were redone in 2022, and most notification appliances are original to the respective parts.

This building also owns the original Cochrane Arena.

System Specifications (2001-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The facility is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located by Totem 1. The system runs Notifier's FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

The NFS2-3030C was installed in 2017, replacing a variant from 2009, which in turn replaced a Notifier AFP1010.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Notifier LCD-160 LCD annunciator paired with two ACM-24AT LED annunciators with AEM-24AT expander modules in the 2017 entrance.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Original Portion & 2004 Expansion[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P2415A (red, wall-mount, multi-candela) horn/strobes. The turf has six of these horn/strobes.

2009 Expansion[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RA (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) horn/strobes.

2017 Expansion[edit | edit source]

The notification appliances in this wing are all from System Sensor's "SpectrAlert Advance" line of products.

The lobby has System Sensor P2RA (red, wall-mount) horn/strobes.

The changerooms of the pools have System Sensor PC2RA (red, ceiling-mount) horn/strobes.

The pool area has a mix of System Sensor P2RKA (red, wall-mount) weatherproof horn/strobes and P2RA horn/strobes.

Outside the entrance, there is a System Sensor SRKA (red, wall mount) weatherproof remote strobe.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations. These are original in the 2017 expansion, and the rest were installed in 2022 replacing conventional pull stations:

Notifier MPS-950B conventional pull stations, main in original, 2004 and 2009 portions.

Tyco/Grinnell MS-401GR pull stations in the hallway to the changerooms of Totem 1.

Mircom MS-401 pull station near the panel, installed as a deficiency replacement.

All of these pull stations were wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable modules, located directly behind each station.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-851A photoelectric smoke detectors on B210LPA bases in the 2017 expansion. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the system's sprinkler flow switches and tamper switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
