Mic Mac Mall is a shopping mall located at 21 Micmac Blvd, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It houses several anchor stores, such as Hudson’s Bay and Decathlon. It opened its doors in 1973, and was expanded in 1978 and 1981. The fire alarm system was upgraded in the 2000s.
System Specifications (2000s-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The mall is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. This is a networked system with several nodes, the locations of which are unknown at this time. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert coding is 20BPM, and the alarm coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Edwards bells. Most areas have Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) behind metal grilles. The non-primary corridors have the same Edwards 439D-10AWC bells, but surface mounted. There is one Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6” gong) near entrance 1. The Decathlon store has Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong), installed in 2020.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are EST SIGC-270PB addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
