The Approach Hotel is a hotel in Panorama Mountain Resort, BC. It is located at 2040 Summit Drive, and consists of two buildings. This page will cover Building A, and was formerly the South Wing. It was built in 1981 as Pine Inn, renovated in 1993, and finally renovated in 2022 to become the Approach Hotel. The fire alarm system survived the renovations, and only most of the pull stations are original, with the rest of the system being installed in 1993.
System Specifications (1982-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a GE FireShield Plus FSP1004G conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby and has the DACT installed. The system coding is likely temporal.
The panel replaced an Edwards 2280 in 2011.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong), installed in 1993.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
Most pull stations are the original Edwards 274-111 conventional pull stations.
ALTO has one original Edwards 270-GAO conventional pull station wired as single stage.
There is one Edwards 270-SPO in ALTO, installed in 1993.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
All smoke detectors are Edwards 6250C ionization smoke detectors.
The heat detectors are Edwards 281C rate-of-rise/fixed-temperature heat detectors.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
