Calgary Co-op is a chain of member-owned grocery stores across Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They have stores throughout the city, and in surrounding towns and cities such as Airdrie and High River. This particular store is located at 5505 Shaganappi Trail Northwest, in Calgary. The store opened in 1973, and the fire alarm system was installed in 2022.

System Specifications (2022-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards iO64 conventional fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system coding is temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is an Edwards RLCD-C annunciator paired with an Edwards RLED24 annunciator at the Health entrance.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Edwards “Genesis” G4AVRF horn/strobes (red, wall-mount). One is installed on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate, which is disconnected.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations but one are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations, with one being original at the front. The rest were installed in 1996.

There is one Edwards 275-SPO conventional single-action pull station in the backroom.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

None noticed.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

Former System Specifications (1996-2022)[edit | edit source]

Former System Specifications
FACP: EST ESA2000
FACP Location: Unknown
System Type: Single-Stage Conventional
System Line Voltage: 120VAC
NAC Voltage: 24VDC
System Coding: Continuous
Strobes Synchronized: No
Date of last known Upgrade: 2010s
Year Installed: 1996
Year Decommissioned: 2022

FACP[edit | edit source]

The store was protected by an EST ESA2000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel location was unknown. The system coding was likely continuous.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There was an EST annunciator in the health entrance, model to be confirmed.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most of the notification appliances were Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong) on EST 403-5A-R (15cd) strobe plates.

There was one Notifier KMS-6-24A motor bell (6” gong) on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW (red, wall-mount, multi-candela) strobe plate near the entrance as a deficiency replacement. The Wheelock strobe plate still exists, but is disconnected.
