Best Western is a large chain of midrange hotels headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. This particular hotel is located at 1947 18 Avenue NE, in the Vista Heights neighborhood of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The hotel was built in 1982, and was renovated in 2015. The fire alarm system is not original.

System Specifications (2015-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The hotel is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located at the back entrance, and replaced an EST 6616. The system coding is likely temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances but one are Simplex 2901-9720 motor bells (6” gong). The breakfast room has a Simplex 2901-9723 motor bell (6” gong) as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

The pull stations are a mix of Mircom MS-401 and Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are System Sensor 1400A conventional ionization smoke detectors throughout all common areas.
