Northland Professional Centre is a 5-story low-rise medical/office building located at 4600 Crowchild Trail NW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1978, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2012, with a notification appliance upgrade taking place in 2017.
System Specifications (2012-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Siemens FireFinder XLS addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby. The system runs Siemens' FirePrint addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most indoor notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to various cd).
Areas requiring additional visual coverage have System Sensor SRA remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 30cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd) outside the main entrance.
These replaced the original notification appliances in 2017; see Former System Specifications for more details.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Siemens HMS-S addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Siemens HFP-11 addressable multisensor smoke/heat detectors throughout the building, mounted on Siemens DB-11 bases.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Siemens EL-300C end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
