CF Chinook Centre is the largest indoor shopping mall in Calgary. It is owned by Cadillac Fairview, the same company that owns CF Market Mall. This one, unlike Market, has voice-evac. The mall was built in 1960, renovated in 2000, expanded in 2010, and the food court was once again renovated in 2019.

System Specifications

FACP

This mall is protected by a two-stage voice-evac networked EST3 system, installed in 2019. It replaced an older EST3 networked system from 2010, due to that system having 90 troubles, 23 supervisories, and 11 monitor troubles. It was so problematic that the piezo in one of the annunciators died from sounding so frequently! The current EST3 is voice evac, and labelled GE EST, new old stock as the GE logo was from 2011-2013. The system is serviced by Viking Fire Protection.

Notification Appliances

The main notification appliances are EST 757-7A-SS25W "Integrity" (white) speaker/strobes, from 1999. Most of the Integrity speaker/strobes are on the ceiling and have the LKC-1 (ceiling FIRE orientation) lens, however a few have the regular wall orientation lens. The newer wing has EST "Genesis" G4-S2VM (white, wall, no FIRE marking) speaker/strobes and EST G4-S2 (white, wall, no FIRE marking) speakers on ceilings. In some areas, there are EST "Integrity" 964-7A-4RW (white, 4", round) speaker/strobes. In the West Parkade there are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SPRK (red, wall) weatherproof peakers with System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SRK (red, wall) weatherproof remote strobes mounted directly adjacent to the speakers.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage pull stations, the 2010 wing has the 2000-2011 generation. The skywalk expansion and food court have the current-generation EST SIGA-270P. The 1960 and 1980 parts have Edwards 270-GAO with the old E shield logo, the only pull stations to remain from an OLD system.

Automatic Detection Devices

Unknown/none noticed.
