The CORE Shopping Centre is a LARGE shopping mall in Downtown Calgary, AB. It consists of TD Square, the Holt Renfrew building and former Calgary Eaton Centre. It spans 3 city blocks, and has about 160 stores on 4 floors. It also has four office towers, which are TD Canada Trust Tower (40 floors + 1 penthouse), Home Oil Tower (34 floors) and Dome Tower (35 floors). The building was built in 1977 and 1990, however the fire alarm system is from 2012 when the Devonian Gardens was opened.
System Specifications
FACP
The fire alarm control panels are either Siemens MXL or Siemens FireFinder XLS with voice evac capability. No panels or annunciators are visible so far, so it is not confirmed what panel the mall is protected by, however by the initiating devices, it is a networked Siemens MXL or FireFinder XLS. The system is also two-stage.
Notification Appliances
The main notification appliances are Siemens SE-MC-CW-B (rebranded bilingual Wheelock E60-24MCC-FW) speaker/strobes and Siemens SEC-W (rebranded Wheelock E60-W) speakers. They are found throughout the building, mall and can be seen in lots of tenants. The Indigo store has SEC-W speakers and Siemens ZR-MC-CW-B (rebranded bilingual Wheelock ZRS-MCC-FW) strobes. The Simons store has the two main speakers and speaker/strobes with a Siemens ST-MC-CW (rebranded bilingual Wheelock RSS-24MCCR-FW) ceiling mount strobe. The Rocky Mountain Soap Co. has a Siemens CS-4200-70 (square, 4") speaker. The Devonian Gardens have Siemens CS-8100-70 (square, 8") speakers, and Siemens-rebranded Mircom SPS-208A-70 speaker/strobes.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
The pull stations are either Siemens HMS-2S or Siemens MSI-30B (bilingual, two stage). They are located at almost every exit. One store has a Simplex 4251-40 two-stage single action pull station, however it is not in use anymore due to not being addressable.
Automatic Detection Devices
The smoke detectors are Siemens "FirePrint" FP-11 intelligent multi-sensor smoke detectors.
