This store has a great variety of pull stations, due to the age of the store and number of pulls that were defective. There are two Edwards 275-C111 pulls by the right entrance, possibly original. There are two Tyco/Grinnell rebranded Notifier MPS-950B pulls, one in the backroom and one by the juice, in which that one replaced a Notifier MPS-950B in 2018, and the backroom one has been removed as of July 4, 2020. There is an Edwards 270-SPO in the backroom as well, unknown if original as the logo is hard to see from the backroom doors, the only non "tab" pull station. Safeway is a chain of grocery stores. This location is located in Crowfoot, NW Calgary. The store was built in 1984, but the current system is from 2015. Only a few pull stations are original. The system has held up well, no troubles at all since August 2018. The store is currently undergoing renovations and possibly has a new fire alarm system as there are new notification appliances and a replaced pull station.
System Specifications
FACP
The fire panel is a Simplex 4100ES InfoAlarm installed in 2015. It is in the left entrance where you get the carts. It replaced an older 1980s-90s Edwards 6616, possibly after a CPU fail. Despite the panel being addressable, the system is set up in a non-addressable manner. The panel has 16 zones. The store is currently getting renovated and includes the part with the 4100ES panel, so the 4100ES may or may not be replaced during these renovations.
Notification Appliances
Most of the notification appliances are Simplex "TrueAlert" 4906-9127 (red, wall) horn/strobes, installed in late June-early July 2020. They replaced EST 757H-15PS "PowerSaver" Integrity horn/strobes from the early 2000s. Some TrueAlerts have been installed in new locations, such as the wall by the pharmacy.
