FACP: Mirtone 7800 System Type:Conventional System Line Voltage: 120VAC NAC Voltage:24VDC Date of last known Upgrade: Mid-late 2010s Year Opened: 1988 |
Rona is a chain of hardware stores. This location is in the neighborhood of Midnapore in SE Calgary, and was built in 1988 as Totem Building Supplies, but was converted into a Rona in the the early 2010s, likely 2014. The fire alarm system, however, was NOT affected by these changes, and is original from 1988. The panel, some bells and most pull stations are original. The store has been closed since January 2020, but the building and fire alarm system is still up, and users Simplex NimrodES and YYCFireAlarmNimrod will be trying to salvage the system as there are lots of rare goodies. As of October 2020, the building is for lease. As of May 2021, it is currently being used as a COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution center. The system is serviced by Troy Life & Fire Safety.
System Specifications
FACP
The panel is a Mirtone 7800, located in the entrance of the store. This panel was installed in 1988, and is original to the store itself. The lock on the panel door has been broken for some time, and the panel is held shut with tape. Since there were no coding options on the 7800, the system does continuous.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances are mostly Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes, installed in the early 1990s. There is one original Mirtone 74303 vibrating bell, which has a Wheelock WST-24 strobe underneath it which is probably original.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
The main pull stations there are Mirtone 73201 dual-action pull stations, original from 1988. There is only one replacement pull station, and it is a Mircom MS-401 installed in the 2010s.
Automatic Detection Devices
None noticed.
