The Calgary Tower is a lookout tower and tourist attraction in Downtown Calgary, Alberta. It is known for its view of the city, and its revolving restaurant. The tower is 191 meters tall, and was the tallest building in Western Canada when it opened in 1968. The fire alarm system is not original; it was installed in the 2000s.

The tower is protected by an EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel locations are unknown, but the model has been confirmed by the size of the building, and the initiating devices on the system. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and is voice evac and two-stage. The coding is unknown, but the system does play a message for one or both stages.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are from EST’s “Genesis” line of products. Most areas have EST G4-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, 70V). The restrooms and possibly other areas have EST G1-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount), set to 15 candela.

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable single-action two-stage pull stations.

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the tower.
