Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge is a large recreation facility located at 11300 Rocky Ridge Rd NW, Calgary. It was built in 2017-18, and opened in 2018, and the fire alarm system is original to the facility. It has an area of 26,385 square meters, making it the largest YMCA facility in Calgary, until another YMCA in Calgary surpassed this facility.

The facility is protected by a networked Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. There are multiple panels; the main node is located in a security office by an entrance, an auxiliary panel is right next to it. The system is equipped with voice-evacuation, runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The tones and/or messages are unknown at this time.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are all from Simplex's "TrueAlert" line of products.

The main notification appliances are Simplex 4906-9151 speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd), found throughout the building. Areas where more sound coverage is needed, such as the pool area and arenas have Simplex 4902-9716 speakers (red, wall-mount) installed with the aforemention speaker/strobes.

Some areas have Simplex 4906-9154 speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd), such as on ceilings underneath the 2nd level, and also Simplex 4902-9721 speakers (white, ceiling-mount) in areas with the where more audible coverage is needed. The aforementioned speakers are also seen in the hallway to the washrooms.

For exterior notification, there is a Simplex 4906-9105 weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 60cd) under an overhang by the entrance with the panel.

The pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage IDNet pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are Simplex 4098-9714 photoelectric addressable smoke detectors, seen throughout. They are on Simplex 4098-9792 bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
