The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the northeast/MacEwan Student Centre entrance. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system plays a whoop tone, followed by the default Simplex message. The 4100U was originally installed in 2006 as an auxiliary panel for the original Simplex 2120, and everything was moved to the 4100U in 2019. The 2120 cabinet remains, however is gutted.
