510 77 Ave SE is a large single floor multi-use building in Fairview, SE Calgary. It was built in 1964, though the system is not original. This building has the Calgary Farmers' Market, Third Academy (a school), and The Shooting Edge, all with different notification appliances, but on the same system.
System Specifications
FACP
The main panel is a Notifier NFS-320C, installed in 2011 when the Calgary Farmers' Market was moved into this building. The annunciator is in the entrance of the farmers' market, but the panel itself is not visible, it's in an electrical room. The system is serviced by Viking Fire Protection Inc.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances vary per outlet. The Calgary Farmer's Market has System Sensor SpectrAlert Advanced P2R (red, wall) and PC2W (white, ceiling) horn/strobes installed in 2011. The Shooting Edge has System Sensor SpectrAlert P1224MC horn/strobes, installed in 2000. Third Academy, however, has Mircom FHS-240R horn/strobes. For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor P2RK (red, wall) weatherproof horn/strobe. When the system goes into alarm, all horns do code-3, and the Mircom horn/strobes are set to the electromechanical tone. The System Sensor alarms are synchronized with each other, while the Mircom horn/strobes are also synchronized, but independent from the System Sensor, which means that the two brands have their own sync modules.
Fun fact: There are also Potter H-1224R horns in Third Academy for a mock system, but they are on a 24VDC power supply and a light switch. They are set to march time broadband.
