'''Greyhound Canada''' was a long-distance bus system that operated in Western Canada until 2018 and Eastern Canada in 2021. This particular building is located in the Sunalta Area of Calgary and once housed Greyhound's office for all of Western Canada. It now sits vacant. It was constructed in 1986 and despite the building appearing very dated and having multiple roof leaks, the fire alarm system is not original. The system is serviced by A K Brown Ltd.

The fire alarm panel is a Simplex 4100U evidently installed sometime around 2010. It is located inside the West Entrance. It is single-stage, and when it goes into in alarm, it does continuous likely due to strobes being installed in the garage area and only running on two wires on the same NAC. There several zone cards installed however, only one zone connects to an unknown device. The system was likely in the process of converting to addressable when the panel was installed.

The devices consist of [[Simplex 2901-9722|Simplex]] 2901-9330 10 inch vibrating bells with some newer Simplex 2901-9724 replacement motor bells behind grills. In the gates and bus area the mentioned bells are not behind grilles, but attached to Wheelock RSSP-24MCW-FR (multi-candela) strobe plates with one random one strangely being retrofitted with a System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SRA (red, wall mount) remote strobe mounted below the bell, as a replacement for a failed strobe plate. All the bells in the garage area are 2901-9724.
Most notification appliances are the original Simplex 2901-9329 vibrating bells (10" gong). These are mounted behind grills. This particular building is located at 850 16 St SW, Calgary, AB, and once housed Greyhound's office for all of Western Canada. It now sits vacant. System Specifications (2010-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the west entrance. There are several zone cards installed, however one zone connects to an unknown device. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous due strobes being installed in the garage area and only running on two wires on the same NAC.

Booster Panels

There are 2 Simplex 4009-9002 conventional NAC extenders installed in the garage area. One at the south end in the maintenance shop and one on the North end outside a women's locker room.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are the original Simplex 2901-9329 vibrating bells (10" gong). These are mounted behind grills. Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10" gong) can be found installed as deficiency replacements. There are Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10" gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates (red, wall-mount, multi-candela, set to 15cd) in the gates and bus area. There is one System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SRA remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) under a 2901-9724 as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations Simplex 4099-9001 single action addressable pull stations, with break rods installed.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are mostly Simplex 4098-9733 addressable rate-of-rise/fixed temperature heat detectors for detection, with Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors installed in each stairwell. All detectors are mounted on 4098-9792 bases.

Waterflow Switches & Modules

There are Potter PS10 waterflow switches installed in several locations to monitor sprinklers. These are likely connected to Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules.
