Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, also known as SLSFSC or commonly shortened to Spray Lakes is a recreation centre in Cochrane, AB. It is located at 800 Griffin Road E, and is seen off of the Highway 1A hill into Cochrane. The facility houses 3 NHL sized arenas and spans two floors. The building was built in 2001, was expanded in 2004 to add a fieldhouse, the turf, double gym, and running truck, in 2009 to add two more arenas, and finally 2017 to add the pool and aquatic facility. The system was installed in 2017, the pull stations were redone in 2022, and most notification appliances are original to the respective parts.

This building also owns the original Cochrane Arena.

System Specifications

FACP

The facility is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located by Totem 1, and was installed in 2017 replacing a variant from 2009, which replaced an AFP1010. The system runs Notifier's FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is a Notifier LCD-160 LCD annunciator paired with two ACM-24AT LED annunciators with AEM-24AT expander modules in the 2017 entrance.

Notification Appliances

Original Portion & 2004 Expansion

The notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P2415A (red, wall-mount, multi-candela) horn/strobes. The turf has six of these horn/strobes.

2009 Expansion

The notification appliances are all System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RA (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) horn/strobes.

2017 Expansion

The notification appliances in this wing are all from System Sensor's "SpectrAlert Advance" line of products.

The lobby has System Sensor P2RA (red, wall-mount) horn/strobes.

The changerooms of the pools have System Sensor PC2RA (red, ceiling-mount) horn/strobes.

The pool area has a mix of System Sensor P2RKA (red, wall-mount) weatherproof horn/strobes and P2RA horn/strobes.

Outside the entrance, there is a System Sensor SRKA (red, wall mount) weatherproof remote strobe.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations. These are original in the 2017 expansion, and the rest were installed in 2022 replacing conventional pull stations:

The pull stations in the original wing, 2004 and 2009 expansions were mainly Notifier MPS-950B conventional pull stations.

There were Tyco/Grinnell MS-401 pull stations in the hallway to the changerooms of Totem 1.

There was a Mircom MS-401 pull station near the panel, installed as a deficiency replacement.

All of these pull stations were wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable modules, located directly behind each station.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Notifier FSP-851A photoelectric smoke detectors on B210LPA bases in the 2017 expansion. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the system's sprinkler flow switches and tamper switches.
