Hudson's Bay is a chain of department stores across Canada. It is owned and operated by the Hudson's Bay Company, the oldest company in North America. This particular location is located in Southcentre Mall, which is located at 100 Anderson Rd SE, Calgary, AB. The store opened in 1974, and the system was upgraded in 2006. This is the only non-Siemens system in the mall.
NOTE: All systems in the mall are networked to trip each other in alarm.
System Specifications (2006-present)
FACP
The store is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal. This panel is wired to the main mall’s panel as an addressable point, and is not networked.
Annunciators
There are Mircom RAX-LCD annunciators paired with RAX-1048TZDS annunciators at most entrances. All annunciators are in Mircom BB-1002 dual-bay annunciator cabinets.
Next to the second floor annunciator, there is a disconnected Simplex 4208 annunciator (model unknown), which is the only remaining device from the original system, but is disconnected.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Mircom BL-10B motor bells (10" gong).
There are also some Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells (10" gong) installed as deficiency replacements.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
None noticed. There is a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.
Modules
There are Mircom MIX-M501MA addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
Bonus Information
Users User: TwentyThree33 and User: Alberta Fire Alarms were questioned for taking pictures of the system for this page, but were granted permission from the manager to take photos. Thank you to the management at this store for supporting Fire Alarmpedia!
