Dragon City Mall is a shopping mall located at 328 Centre Street South, in the Chinatown district of Downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building originally opened in 1978 as an office building, and was transformed into a mall in 1994. The fire alarm system was installed in 1994, and all devices excluding notification appliances were replaced in the 2000s.

System Specifications (2000s-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal. The system may or may not be configured for two-stage operation.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Mircom RAX-LCD annunciator paired with a Mircom RAX-1048TZDS annunciator in the main entrance vestibule. Both annunciators are mounted in a Mircom RA-1002 enclosure.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances but one are Simplex 12901-9801 mechanical horns (red) mounted on Wheelock VLPS-24 strobe plates (1.5cd).

There is a System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P1224MCA horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd/electromechanical) at one entrance as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations. If the system is two-stage, then there are Mircom MS-402AD two-stage pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

None noticed.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Mircom MIX-M500MA addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Mircom MP-300 end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
