Bay-Enterprise Square Station is a light rail train station in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The station opened in 1983, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in the 2010s.

System Specifications (2010s-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in a mechanical room on the mezzanine level. The system has zone cards installed to accommodate the system’s conventional devices, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4602-9102 annunciators at the bottom of all street-level stairwells.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd). Some areas have Simplex 4906-9102 remote strobes (red, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

Most pull stations are Simplex 2099-9754 conventional single-action pull stations. Some Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations are present, left over from the original system.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9601 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors by doorways, likely for door contact releases. The station is equipped with a sprinkler system, wired as a zone on the 4100ES.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
