The East Calgary Waste Management Facility is a landfill located at 3801 68 Street SE, in Calgary, Alberta. The landfill is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. This page will cover Buildings S & T, as both buildings share a fire alarm system. Building S houses offices, while Building T is a vehicle storage garage. Both buildings were built in 2015, and the fire alarm system is original.
System Specifications[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
Both buildings are protected by a networked Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. There are two panels, located at the main entrance of each building. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet initiating protocol, and Building T runs Simplex’s IDNAC addressable signaling protocol. The system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Building S[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
Building T[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert ES” 49AV-WRF addressable horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9733 addressable heat detectors in some areas, and Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas.
All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
The generator room and workshop in Building T have FDD CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors wired to Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising heat detectors and the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 2081-9040C on all conventional and sprinkler circuits, and on all signal circuits in Building S.
