Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is an elementary school located at 605 4 Ave N, Cochrane, AB. It was built in 1977, and had portables added in 1991 and 1999. The fire alarm system was mostly upgraded in 2008.

System Specifications (2008-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an EST QuickStart QS1 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.
The QuickStart QS1 replaced an EST ESA2000 in 2008.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances but one are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong). These were installed in 1993, and were not replaced with the upgrade. These are also on the exterior.
There is an Edwards MB10-24 motor bell (10” gong) on the exterior as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.
Some areas have EST SIGA-HRS addressable fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

Former System Specifications (1993-2008)[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations were Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There were Edwards 6250C conventional ionization smoke detectors throughout the building.

Some areas had Edwards 281C fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
