The Lobstick Lodge is an independent hotel located at 94 Geikie Street, in Jasper, Alberta, Canada. The hotel opened in 1968, and was renovated in 2002. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2002, and again in 2019.
System Specifications (2019-present)[edit | edit source]
FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located behind the front desk. The system runs Mircom’s Advanced addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances but one are System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
There is a Mircom “Select-A-Horn/Strobe” FHS-240R horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) in the pool area as a deficiency replacement.
All notification appliances were installed with the previous system in 2002.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
Most pull stations are Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
Some areas have Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements, installed before the upgrade.
All stations have Mircom MIX-M501MAPA addressable monitor modules attached to them.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Mircom MIX-2251APA addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout most common areas.
The laundry room has Mircom MIX-5251RAPA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Mircom MIX-M500MAPA addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.

FACP[edit | edit source]
The building was protected by a Notifier AFP-200 addressable fire alarm system. The panel was located behind the front desk. The system ran Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding was temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances but one were System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
There was a Mircom “Select-A-Horn/Strobe” FHS-240R horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) in the pool area as a deficiency replacement.
The notification appliances were not replaced during the 2019 upgrade.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations were Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
Some areas had Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements
All stations had Notifier MMX-101A addressable monitor modules attached to them.
These were not replaced during the 2019 upgrade, and are now wired to Mircom modules.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There were Notifier FSP-751A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.
There were Notifier FST-751RA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the laundry room.
All detectors were mounted on Notifier B710LPA bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
