Stu Peppard Arena is an arena located at 5300 19 Street Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The arena is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The arena opened in 1962, and is slated for demolition in 2027. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 1995, and again in 2007, and has components ranging in age from 1984 to the 2000s.
System Specifications (2007-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Mircom's CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
The FX-2000 replaced a Notifier System 500 in 2007.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Notifier KMS-6-24VDC/P motor bells (6" gong).
The shop area, the Royals dressing room, and locker rooms 2 and 3 have Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5cd).
The west wall of the main arena, the flood room and dressing room 1 have Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).
The east wall of the main arena has an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10" gong).
Dressing room 4 has a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10" gong) mounted on an Amseco RSB24-153075 strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement.
The mechanical room has an Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6" gong).
The ammonia room has a System Sensor "Multi-Alert" MA-12/24D remote sounder (red, wall-mount, set to slow whoop).
All remotely-mounted audible devices have System Sensor SS24LO remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 1.5cd) mounted next to them, installed in 1995.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
Most pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.
Some areas have Mircom MS-401AP addressable single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Mircom MIX-5251RBA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in all dressing rooms, most storage rooms and most mechanical rooms.
There are Mircom MIX-5251HBA addressable 190°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in mechanical rooms with high ambient temperatures.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on System Sensor B710LPA bases.
The southeast storage room has a Mircom MIX-5251APA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector mounted on a System Sensor B210LPA base.
EOLs
There are Notifier EOL-CW end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
