The Approach Hotel is a hotel in Panorama Mountain Resort, BC that consists of two buildings. It is located at 2040 Summit Drive. This page will cover Building B, which houses Fireside Cafe & Lounge, the fitness rooms and a spa. It was completed in 1985 as an expansion - called Pine Inn North, and was renamed The Approach Hotel in 2022. The fire alarm system survived the renovations, and is mostly original.

System Specifications (1985-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a GE FireShield Plus FSP1004G onventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby and is equipped with the DACT. The system coding is likely temporal.

The panel replaced an Edwards 2280 in 2011.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

All smoke detectors are Edwards 6250C ionization smoke detectors.

Some areas have Edwards 281C fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
