Toys ‘R’ Us is a chain of toy and baby stores. This particular store is located at 3940 Gateway Blvd NW, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The store was built in 1988, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2020.

System Specifications (2020-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards iO1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. This panel uses Edwards RZI16-2 zone cards to accommodate the system’s conventional technology. The system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an Edwards Custom 6500 due to a panel failure.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards RLCD-C annunciator paired with two Edwards RLED24 annunciators in the main entrance vestibule.
All annunciators are mounted in an Edwards RA-ENC3 enclosure, over top of the original Edwards 456 annunciator.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the storefront.
There are System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in areas with lower ceilings.
All detectors replaced Edwards 281C heat detectors in 2020.

There are Edwards "SuperDuct" SD-2W conventional photoelectric smoke detectors on the air handling units.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
