It is part of the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and has a capacity of 900 students, but is currently not at capacity. It teaches students in grades 7 to 9. The school was built in 1983, but does not have the original fire alarm system.

The building was formerly protected by the original Pyrotronics System 3 conventional fire alarm system. The notification appliances were bells, however no other information is known about this system as it was sourced from a RECAPP facility report from 2009.
