40 Sunpark Plaza SE is a mixed-use 3-story office complex located in the Sundance neighborhood of SE Calgary. The first floor contains a doctor's office, a Shoppers Drug Mart, and formerly an optometrist. It was built in 2004, and has the original fire alarm system.

System Specifications

NOTE: This is how the system looked as of July 2018, and there was a permit issued for "Fire alarm repairs" in 2020, so this page may not be fully accurate.

FACP

The fire alarm panel is a Notifier AFP-200. It is original. When the system goes into alarm, the panel is set on continuous, but the notification appliances are self-coded to code 3.

Notification Appliances

The main notification appliances are the original System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P1224MC horn/strobes (red, wall-mount). There has been one replacement spotted on the main floor, and the notification appliance in question is a Mircom FHS-340R, which was installed in 2014 replacing the original horn/strobe. The System Sensor horn/strobes are set to code-3 electromechanical horn, and the FHS-340R is set to broadband code-3. All strobes are synchronized.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are the original Notifier MPS-950B pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Notifier FSP-851 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout the building, but they are not original.
