System Specifications

  • Note: This is how the system looked as of July 2017, and is now undergoing an expansion, so the page may not reflect how the system looks today.

FACP

The fire alarm panels are EST3 addressable fire alarm panels. They were installed as the replacement panels for older EST3 panels in around 2011-13. One of the panels has been spotted at the Discovery Gallery entrance, beside the Space Place entrance. There's an auxiliary panel next to it as well.

Annunciators

There is an EST 3-LCDANN annunciator at the entrance.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances mainly consist of General Signal MB10-24 motor bells on EST "Integrity" 403-5A-R strobe plates. They were installed in 2001, when it was expanded. In an exhibit space, there are the mentioned bell/strobes, as well as an EST "Integrity" 202-5A-T remote strobe. In some exhibit areas, there are Edwards MB10-24 motor bells, mostly seen on EST 403-5A-R strobe plates. In the IMAX theatre, there is an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell, and near the entrance of that theatre, there is an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell, with an Edwards 802-2B remote strobe next to it. Near the DOW Computer Lab, there is a Potter MBA-624 motor bell, as a replacement for a bell that stopped working.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are mostly Edwards 270-SPO. Some EST SIGA-270 addressable pull stations can be seen as replacements.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed.
