7520 Macleod Trail SE is the address of a building in the Fairview Industrial area of Southeast Calgary. It was built in 1975 as Lloyd’s Recreation Centre, a roller rink. However, due to a lack of patronage, the rink closed in 2017, and was converted into Visions Electronics. The current system was installed in 2018, following the conversion of the building. This page will showcase both the current and previous systems.
System Specifications
NOTE: This system is unconfirmed, and is based on typical Notifier systems from this time.
FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown, and was installed in 2018. The system runs FlashScan, and does code 3 in alarm.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are System Sensor “L Series” P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, bilingual lettering). They are set on code 3 electromechanical.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
The pull stations are likely Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are likely Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.

FACP
The building was protected by the original Edwards Custom 6500 conventional fire alarm system. The panel was likely located in the main office, and probably did march time or continuous in alarm. The system lasted a mere 42 years before being replaced, with no upgrades.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances were Edwards “Durabel” 6100D vibrating bells (6” gong), which were also original.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations were third-generation Edwards 270-SPO single-action “teardrop” pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
None, as codes did not require detectors at that time.
