Marlborough Mall is a shopping mall located in Marlborough, NE Calgary. It was built in 1972, and had a major renovation in 2005. The current fire alarm system is from the 2005 renovation. It is serviced by Viking Fire Protection Inc.

The mall will be getting a new fire alarm system in mid-2022. Everything currently on the system will be put out of service after 16 years, ripped out and replaced. The new system will likely be a Notifier NFS2-3030C with DVC. The staff of this Wiki will be getting the old system!

System Specifications (2005-present, soon to be decommissioned)

FACP

The building is protected by a 4-node Notifier NFS2-640C addressable fire alarm system. The panels are in the electrical rooms, but Yycsfirealarmnimrod saw the programming data for the system, and confirmed the models. The system is two-stage, and does 20BPM in first stage, followed by Code 3 in general alarm. The panels are all connected via relays and monitor modules. They are not networked.

Annunciators

A few Notifier LCD-80TM annunciators have been seen in some entrances.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances mainly consist of Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells in the ceiling behind grills. They are mounted like that possibly for preference. The bells are not very easy to see through those grills. In the hallway of the mall near the Walmart, the Notifier KMS-10-24A bells have System Sensor "SpectrAlert" S2415A (red, wall, 15-candela) remote strobes beside them. In the Walmart, there are the Notifier KMS-10-24A bells, but on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates. The pillars have two of the mentioned bell/strobes on each side, and two System Sensor "SpectrAlert" S2415A remote strobes on the others. On one pillar, both original strobes broke down and were replaced with a System Sensor "L-Series" SRLA (red, wall, bilingual) remote strobe, and an EST "Genesis" G1R-VM (red, wall, no FIRE) remote strobe. McDonald's also has a KMS-10-24A/RSSP-24MCW combo, but the gong of the bell is covering the strobe, which is a code violation. In the Dollarama, there are Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells on EST "Integrity" 403-5A-R strobe plates.
All of these devices will be replaced in 2022.

Pull Stations

The pull stations are all Notifier FM-955 addressable two-stage pull stations. These will be replaced in 2022.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout the mall.
