Centennial Planetarium was a planetarium in Calgary. It is in Downtown Calgary, at 701 11 St SW. It is one of Calgary's best examples of Brutalist architecture. The TELUS World of Science moved in in 1984, and was renovated in 2011. Following the opening of TELUS Spark in 2011, Telus World of Science closed its doors. In 2018, an art museum known as Contemporary Calgary moved into the space. The system was installed following the new tenant.

System Specifications (2018-present)

FACP

The planetarium is protected by an Edwards EST3X addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located (Nathan, please fill). The system runs EST's Signature-series addressable protocol, and the system coding is Temporal.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are EST "Genesis" G1R-HDVM (red, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes throughout the building. There is one Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6" gong) on an EST 403-5A-R (15cd) strobe plate left over, but it is disconnected.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are EST SIGA2-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

Former System Specifications (East Wing) (2000s-2011)

System Specifications

FACP

The East Wing was protected by a Notifier AFP-400 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location was unknown. The system ran Notifier's CLIP addressable protocol, and was configured for two-stage operation. The system coding was 20BPM for first stage, and temporal for general alarm.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances were Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells (10" gong) on Wheelock RSSP-2415W-FR strobe plates (15cd)

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations were Notifier MPS-950KB conventional two-stage pull stations. They were directly wired to Notifier MMX-101A addressable modules, behind each station.
